Call For Artists

Online Show

Presented by the We Are Artists Podcast - Bring Me 2 Life Network and the "Safe Space for Artists" Facebook Group.

Art has the power to wake us up, tell our stories, and bring meaning to moments we can’t always put into words. This creative feature contest is an invitation for artists to share work that reflects transformation, intention, and creative voice—while also learning how to submit artwork in a professional, real-world way.

This contest is part of the We Are Artists podcast series and is designed to support emerging and independent artists who want visibility, experience, and guidance—not just exposure.

Our intention is twofold:

One: To highlight artists and their work through features on the Bring Me 2 Life platform and the We Are Artists podcast+ Safe Space for Artists Facebook Group.

Two: To educate artists on how to submit artwork professionally, clearly, and confidently—skills that translate directly to gallery calls, publications, grants, podcasts, and future opportunities.

This is not just a contest.
It’s a practice run for putting your work into the world.

Call For Artwork!
Theme: "Bring Me 2 Life."

Bring Me 2 Life explores the moment something awakens—emotionally, creatively, spiritually, or personally. This theme based of the hosting network invites artists to interpret what it means to feel alive again, to reconnect with purpose, or to bring something unseen into form.

This could be:

A personal rebirth or healing moment

The return to creativity after grief, burnout, or silence

Breath, movement, energy, or emotional awakening

Symbolic resurrection, transformation, or renewal

Visual interpretations might include:

Light emerging from darkness

Figures awakening, stretching, or rising

Nature reclaiming space

Color shifts from muted to vibrant

Symbolic elements like birds, hands, hearts, fire, water, or roots

This theme is open-ended and welcomes literal or abstract interpretations.

Submission Guidelines

Please read carefully before submitting

To ensure a fair review process and to maintain professional presentation standards for features on the Bring Me 2 Life website and We Are Artists podcast, all artists must follow the submission guidelines below.

These guidelines are designed to mirror real-world calls for art, publications, and media features.

Artwork Requirements

Submit finished, polished artwork only

Please do not submit unfinished works, in-progress pieces, or rough drafts

Sketchbook pages, casual practice studies, or works not intended for public display will not be considered

Artwork should represent your best current work

Choose pieces you would confidently share in a gallery, publication, or professional feature

All mediums are welcome Except A.I.

We are welcoming: painting, drawing, mixed media, digital art, photography, fiber, sculpture, and more

If your work is sculptural or dimensional, include multiple angles.

Image Quality & Photography Standards

Because selected works may be featured on a website, podcast promotions, and social media, high-quality images are required.

Images must be:

-Clear and cropped to feature the artwork.

-Well-lit (natural light preferred when possible)

-In focus, not blurry or grainy

-Properly cropped (no distracting backgrounds or edges)

Avoid:

-Low-resolution photos

-Heavy filters

-Shadows, glare, or color distortion

-Images taken at extreme angles unless intentional for the work

- Photos showing to much background or clutter around the artwork.

File guidelines:

JPG or PNG format

Minimum recommended size: 2000 pixels on the longest side

You may submit multiple photos of the same artwork but please don't exceed 5.

Submitting clear images helps your work be represented accurately and professionally.

Artist Bio (Required)

Each submission must include a clear, concise artist bio and artwork description/artist statement.

Your bio should:

Be written in the third person

Be 2–4 short sentences

Include:

Your name or artist name

Your primary medium(s)

Where you are based (city/state or region)

A brief sentence about your artistic focus or inspiration

Example:

Jane Doe is a mixed media artist based in Appalachia. Her work explores emotional healing, symbolism, and transformation through layered textures and organic forms.

This bio may be used verbatim in features, so please proofread.

Artist Statement

Artists are encouraged to include a short artist statement (3–5 sentences) about the submitted piece.

This may include:

The meaning behind the work

How it connects to the theme

Materials or process

What you hope viewers experience

Clear statements strengthen your submission and help audiences connect with your work. Contest judges will be looking at this to help create content for features and potential podcast opportunities.

Website or Portfolio Link (Required)

Artists selected for a website feature must have a way for viewers to:

-Learn more about their work

-Follow them

-Purchase artwork (if applicable)

You must include at least one of the following:

-Personal website

-Online shop (Etsy, Shopify, etc.)

-Portfolio page

-Social media account clearly dedicated to your art

-This link will be included in features and promotions.

These standards reflect what galleries, publications, and media platforms typically expect.
